Smuggler’s Notch Pond Skimming 2022

This year Team ZG had the opportunity to sponsor Smugglers Notch Resort’s Annual Pond Skimming event over in good ol’ Jeffersonville, VT. 

On a beautiful day in April we gathered up our grilling gear, a few coolers of cold ones, got dressed in our best Gaper Day outfits, and headed out for a day of slushy, sunshine-y fun.

Spirits were high as roughly 120 skiers/snowboarders took turns darting down the hill toward a pond of ice cold water trying their best to skim all the way across. 

We put on our judge’s hats and made our picks for which participants had the Best Costume, Best Crash, and of course, Best Pond Skim.

We closed out the day with an après party in the infamous Parking Lot 1 where we fired up the grill for some well-earned grilled cheese, hot dogs and Rescue Clubs for enjoyment. 

This day would not have been complete without our mobile bar serving up ZG staples like Green State, Cone Head, Madonna and McLighty’s. Big thanks to our friends at Smugglers Notch for making this bluebird spring day a dream.
