Carribbean Beer Dinner
As our operations have changed and evolved to adapt in 2020 we haven’t been able to host in our spaces in the ways we once did. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to team up with All Heart Inspirations this October to safely host an intimate Caribbean beer dinner, featuring a storytelling performance by Ferene Paris Meyer.
Ferene is a storyteller local to Burlington, Vermont who creates heart-centered spaces through workshops, community engagements, retreats, food & affinity spaces.
Chefs Frank Pace and Lahi put together a four course Caribbean menu, inspired by Ferene’s Haitian culture. Ferene joined them in the kitchen to contribute her signature spicy Haitian coleslaw, Pikliz, and Haitian Barbancourt Rhum cakes.
As the courses came out they were each paired with a Zero Gravity beer (or two!) as well as a beautiful storytelling performance by Ferene, that followed the pattern of the meal. She invited guests to think about the community spaces that were important to them, and how they have evolved in this time.
We could not be more grateful to Ferene for filling the room with spirit, warmth, and reflections on why our community and gathering spaces are so important. There couldn’t have been a more perfect way to prepare ourselves to head into the colder months.
